- http://www.fishandboats.comThe portal domains are used as a gateway to the real site. The portal domains host a page of information about a certain idea or product and then tie that idea into the main site of the client.
Mirror domains are purely mirrors of the main site. They are, in effect, "pointed" to the same directory as the main domain (in this case, www.jimmysfishing.com). No extra pages are used, but the domain names may be marketed individually and increase the possibility of a high listing in search engines.
All pages in the site would be examined and optimized for search engine indexing. Keywords, contents and descriptions would be inserted into the headers of all the pages (not visible in the browser). This extra information helps search engines to place the site in the proper category and aids users in finding your site via search.
